Fleetminder - Release of updated FM-Planner with important new functionality

Fleetminder is pleased to announce the release of V5.1.0 of our planning module, FM-Planner.

For customers with a licence for FM-Planner and who hold a current support contract for Fleetminder, one of our team at the Customer Support Centre will be in touch with you shortly to arrange a time suitable for update.  Note that the FM-Planner update requires a contemporaneous update of Fleetminder Enterprise to V5.1.0.

If you would like to expedite the update and have it installed sooner, then please let us know by setting up a ticket (tickets@fleetminder.ie) and requesting immediate update.

If you do not have a licence for FM-Planner and would like to discuss its implementation, then please contact Paul O’Leary or Graham McCarthy on +353 1 612 0922.

The primary changes in the new enhanced version of FM-Planner include:

  • Functionality for fleet owners / operators and for maintenance workshops providing these services to fleet owners.
  • Graphical representation of the fleet management plan
  • Simplified jobcard creation direct from the maintenance schedule
  • Automatic capture of key dates (periodic inspection) when the vehicle is first created on Fleetminder or when checked in for a job and where no date already exists
  • Extensive new functionality included in the Vehicle Maintenance Schedule sub-module, providing for the key requirements of fleet management including visual representation of the entire fleet, management of key scheduled dates including periodic inspections, safety inspections and maintenance schedules, as well as such tasks as tachograph calibration
  • New reporting functions with a variety of selectable options
  • Ability to set-up scheduled reports and have these automatically emailed every week, month or whatever interval is chosen to one or more people in the fleet owning organisation or the workshops providing the services

Planning is an essential activity for all fleets, and whether as a fleet manager / owner or a workshop providing services to fleet customers, this software will significantly enhance and improve the fleet management experience for everyone.

Fleetminder & Windows 10 - DO NOT upgrade yet

Dear Customer:

If it very likely that by now, you will have read about the new OS from Microsoft, Windows 10.  In fact, it is quite possible that you have been offered a free upgrade.

Please note that we have not yet assessed Fleetminder running on a Windows 10 platform and so, until we notify you, Fleetminder is NOT QUALIFED TO OPERATE ON WINDOWS 10.  While the upgrade to Windows 10 might download in the background to your PC, do NOT install it if / when presented with the opportunity.

Until we have tested and qualified Windows 10, we are unable to provide support for Fleetminder operating with the OS.  What this means is that if you do upgrade, and later experience a problem, we will ask you to downgrade again to your previous operating system.  If you inadvertantly install the uprade, then be aware that Microsoft has built in a simple process that only requires a few clicks to have the system roll back to your previous version of Windows (so long as you haven’t deleted the windows.old folder in which the previous version lives).

The only qualified platforms for Fleetminder are Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows XP.  (We are aware that it runs on Windows Vista but this is not a qualified platform.  Also, and with the announcement by Microsoft that Windows XP is no longer supported by them, we strongly encourage our customers to upgrade at the earliest opportunity).

Announcement of new Fleetminder Customer Services Call Centre

Dear Customer:


As part of our continuous improvement programme in the support services that we offer to our customers, I’m delighted to announce that, with effect from Wednesday, July 8, 2015, we will put our new Customer Services Call Centre into full operation.  The Customer Services Call Centre will operate daily from 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

We encourage you to continue to use our automated ticket logging system, either by sending an email to tickets@fleetminder.ie or by logging on to our Fleetminder Support portal at http://support.fleetminder.ie.  Please use this service for all requests, including training requests.  Can I also use this opportunity to ask that you include as much details as possible in your ticket as this will ensure a faster resolution of your query.

When you log a ticket, you will receive an immediate email acknowledgement with a link that allows you to monitor the progress of your ticket. As we close the vast majority of tickets on the same day, most often within hours of the ticket being set up, then there should be nothing more that you need to do and one of our staff will contact you as necessary.

If you need to contact us by phone, please remember that you will be asked for the ticket number – this must be set up before you call as it allows us to route the issue to most approporiate resource. The number to call us on has changed so please make a note of the new number. The number is:

(Note that our Head office number +353 1 612 0922 has not changed; the above is ONLY for the Customer Services Call Centre).

Our new Customer Services Call Centre is being set up in partnership with Trojan IT, one of Ireland’s leading ICT services companies and with extensive experience today in providing application support, systems support, managed IT services, cloud services and specialist services, to Enterprise IT and the Education sectors. This is a strategic direction for Fleetminder and ensures that we deliver a customer service experience that is second to none.

Fleetminder Announces Availability of Vehicle History Portal

ASC Software / Fleetminder announces the availability of our new Vehicle History Portal.

In an era when compliance is a priority for all stakeholders in the commercial vehicle market, the need to have 24/7 access to vehicle history is fast becoming a significant priority.

It is also being recognised that providing this level of access to your customers gives you, as a Fleetminder user, a selling point that distinguishes you from the competition and with few exceptions, allows you to provide to your customers a service that they cannot obtain elsewhere.  This means that if he decides to bring his business elsewhere, then he must assess and take into account, the cost to his business of losing this invaluable access. For those seeking to increase their business, it adds a new, topical, and exciting new service into the portfolio of services that you offer.

With the release of the Fleetminder Vehicle History Portal, it is now possible for users of the Fleetminder software to provide access by your customers to their vehicle history with the only requirement being that your customer must have access to a web browser. Once authorised and set up, your customer can log onto the Vehicle History Portal at any time of the day or night, enter a vehicle registration number, and request the maintenance and service history for that vehicle.

There are a number of options available, including the ability to enter start and / or end dates for the history.  If permitted by you (when the customer is initially authorised for access), you can allow your customer to request and receive the associated financial information in the history report and to obtain a copy of the associated invoice for any specific job. 

Security is a concern for all businesses and in this context, it is important to state that at no time will your customer have access to your server and database. The Fleetminder Vehicle History Portal is a secure, cloud-based application. Once a request is made, then this is managed by the Portal through a highly secure connection to your Fleetminder database that only connects to our cloud.

The Fleetminder Vehicle History Portal is a subscription-based service. There is a very small initial set-up fee and thereafter, two small monthly fees, a hosting fee, paid by the Fleetminder customer and then a customer fee, payable in respect of every customer granted access by you to the portal. Currently, there is no limit to the number of vehicles that a customer may access through the portal. The norm in those industries that provide their customers with a similar model of direct access to cloud apps is that the customer pays the subscription fee but of course, and depending on your business model, this might be paid by you on some occasions.

The addition of the Fleetminder Vehicle History Portal to the Fleetminder portfolio represents a significant new value-add to the product, and new optional functionality that will allow you, as a Fleetminder customer, to offer a service to your customer that is second to none.
